The Cheyenne Police Department congratulates SSgt John Gay on his retirement from the CPD after more than 21 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Cheyenne.

SSgt Gay began his career in June of 2000 and has served as a Sergeant since 2014. SSgt Gay has always been a valuable team member with extensive police experience. He has held supervisory roles within many units, including Patrol, Traffic, and the School Resource Officer Unit.

Throughout his career, SSgt. Gay has also served as a Patrol Officer, Crime Scene Tech., Bicycle Officer, Child Crimes Detective, Traffic Officer, Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Officer, CAT Detective, CPD Special Event Coordinator, and Founder of the Major Crime Scene Unit.

The department thanks Gay for all his years of dedication and hard work and says he will be missed.
