Gaston manager needs to rethink position and celebrate gay community – Gaston Gazette
As a Gaston County resident, it is disheartening that a governmental representative would find a photo of two people in love not representative of a positive “viewpoint” for our community and a beautiful “capture of context” for a Pride Parade.
It also seems contradictory to the “consideration of differing viewpoints” by the removal of the photo, since a heterosexual photo of a similar scenario would be more mainstream.
Same sex marriage is legal in North Carolina, thus both the law and people of North Carolina, find a homosexual couple sharing a kiss during a wedding proposal very appropriate.
I hope, in retrospect, that Kim Eagle rethinks this decision and makes the changes that would represent, and celebrate, our vibrant gay community.
