STARKVILLE – Fourteen former Mississippi State standouts helped their respective NFL teams reach the postseason this year.

Wild Card weekend gets started on Saturday with the Seattle Seahawks trio of Johnathan Abram, Charles Cross and Gabe Jackson visiting San Francisco 49ers at 3:30 p.m. on FOX. The 49ers swept the Seahawks during the regular season winning 27-7 at home during Week 2 and also 21-13 in Seattle on Dec. 15.

Saturday’s nightcap will see Logan Cooke and the Jacksonville Jaguars are making the franchise’s first playoff appearance since 2017. The Jaguars play host to the Los Angeles Chargers at 7:15 on NBC and Peacock.

Jacksonville bested the Chargers 38-10 in Los Angeles during Week 3.

Sunday’s Wild Card will see two former Bulldogs going head-to-head as Tyre Phillips and the New York Giants travel to take on Cameron Dantzler and the Minnesota Vikings. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. on FOX.

The Vikings edged New York 27-24 at home on Christmas Eve.

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys will close out Wild Card action on Monday Night as they invade Tampa Bay for a 7:15 start on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2. The Buccaneers claimed a 19-3 win in Dallas on opening weekend.

Four more former MSU players earned a first-round bye as Fletcher Cox and Darius Slay of the Philadelphia Eagles and Willie Gay and Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs await their future opponents in the second round.

Several former Bulldogs signed futures contracts in the past week. Kobe Jones (Panthers), Gerri Green (Bears), Isaiah Zuber (Raiders) and Marquiss Spencer (Jets) were all retained by their respective teams while Jamal Peters was inked by the Atlanta Falcons after playing the past two seasons in the Canadian Football League.
