STARKVILLE – A Sunday night clash between some of Mississippi State’s top defensive standouts highlights the Week 9 schedule in the NFL.

Willie Gay Jr., Chris Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs play host to the Tennessee Titans defensive line duo of Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons on Sunday at 7:20 p.m. on NBC. That quartet has already combined for 16 sacks this season and racked up 120 total during their careers.

However, the Chiefs and Titans won’t be the only teams with former Bulldogs in the primetime spotlight this week. Fletcher Cox, Darius Slay and the Philadelphia Eagles get the week kicked off on Thursday night as they invade the Houston Texans. The Eagles are off to a 7-0 start.

J.T. Gray and the New Orleans Saints will bookend Week 9’s action when they welcome the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.

There are two more matchups between teams that feature former MSU players going head-to-head this week. The Las Vegas Raiders and Johnathan Abram visit Logan Cooke and the Jacksonville Jaguars while Montez Sweat and the Washington Commanders welcome the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings and Cameron Dantzler.

Green Bay activated running back Kylin Hill to the 53-man roster this week. Hill had been recovering from a torn ACL that ended his rookie season on Oct. 28, 2021. Hill and teammates Elgton Jenkins and Preston Smith will travel to Detroit as the Packers visit the Lions on Sunday at noon.

The Seattle Seahawks and offensive linemen Charles Cross and Gabe Jackson are the only other former State players in action this week as they take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
