STARKVILLE – Dak Prescott is expected to make his long-awaited return to the Dallas Cowboys during Week 7 of NFL action.

The former Mississippi State quarterback has been out since sustaining a fractured right thumb during the opening game of the season. Prescott underwent successful surgery on Sept. 12 and is expected to return under center at home against the Detroit Lions on Sunday at noon.

Prescott isn’t the only former Bulldog returning to the field this week. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. has missed the previous four games for Kansas City but will reunite with Chris Jones on the Chiefs’ defense as they travel to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 3:25 p.m.

Green Bay running back Kylin Hill returned to practice last week but is not currently part of the Packers’ 53-man active roster.

Green Bay will be one of two games on Sunday where former MSU players’ teams will meet head-to-head. The Packers and offensive tackle Elgton Jenkins and linebacker Preston Smith visit defensive end Montez Sweat and the Washington Commanders while Jacksonville Jaguars punter Logan Cooke hosts offensive guard Tyre Phillips and the New York Giants.

Both of those games are set for noon starts on FOX.

J.T. Gray and the New Orleans Saints get Week 7 underway Thursday night as they travel to the Arizona Cardinals at 7:15.

The Cleveland Browns and cornerback Martin Emerson are also on the road Sunday as they visit the Baltimore Ravens at noon. Offensive linemen Charles Cross and Gabe Jackson of the Seattle Seahawks are also away as they trek to play the Los Angeles Chargers at 3:25 p.m.

Jonathan Abram, Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons are all coming off of open dates and will be hosting at home this week. Autry, Simmons and the Tennessee Titans take on the Indianapolis Colts at noon while later Abram and the Las Vegas Raiders welcome the Houston Texans at 3:05 p.m.
