Activists associated with the Yellow Vests (Gilets Jaunes) movement plan to hold two protest marches in Paris Nov. 12 over several issues, including the rising cost of living and COVID-19 vaccination mandates, among others. Organizers have announced the following actions:

  • The first group of protesters will gather at Place Edmond Rostand from 12:00 before commencing a march at 14:30 toward Place Felix-Eboue. The march will occur along Rue Gay Lussac, Rue Claude Bernard, Av. des Gobelins, Boulevard Vincent Auriol, Pont de Bercy, and Boulevard de Reuilly.

  • The second demonstration will begin at Place Franz Liszt at 13:00. Activists will commence a march at 14:30 toward Place de la Nation. The march will proceed along Rue La Fayette, Boulevard de Magenta, Place de la Republique, and Boulevard Voltaire.

Hundreds to several thousand people could participate in both events. The Paris authorities have approved the demonstrations.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely near the gathering sites and march routes. Clashes between police and protesters are possible.
