With summer officially in full swing, Shreveport is bursting at the seams with things to that bring the community together.

Shreveport Pride

Last month, the Shreveport City Council unanimously voted to make June LGTBQ+ Pride Month in the city and with the celebratory month in full swing, events are already happening with more to come. 

ShrevePride’s 2021 event Field Gay returned to A.C. Steere Park last Saturday and there were games and fun, but most importantly, a huge community turnout.

Locals Making Headlines

Heather Boucher said she became a police officer to help victims of sexual assault. When Centenary College needed a police detective, she stepped up for the role. Since then, she's taken hold of the sexual assault awareness campaign on campus.

A Webster Parish detective received recognition from the Louisiana District Attorney General for her service and passion for helping others.

General Manager of the Shreveport Barksdale Hwy McDonald’s has won an award for his dedication to excellence in his store and employees at a worldwide convention.
