Eternights: “Eternights” is a forthcoming hack-and-slash JRPG focused on fighting and dating, and it was announced during the June 2022 State of Play. Studio Sai has created a “Persona”-like a game to tide fans over till the announcement of “Persona 6.”

According to the Steam description, human beings transform into violent monsters. The world’s end is near, and you must save the people you care about, battle the enemy, and find a solution.

Players can choose between five playable characters while adventuring or looting, learning more about their backstories, and gaining access to unique combat abilities.

Like the video game “Persona,” the game uses a calendar system in which players must make daily decisions on how to spend their time until the clock runs out. Everything you need to know about “Eternights” is right here.

Eternights Release Date

Early in 2023, “Eternights” will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (through Steam and the Epic Games Store), and PlayStation Vita. It has been reported that “Eternights” would be ported to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch after its initial release, though there is no official release date.

One Twitter user has provided a screenshot of a direct message they claim to have gotten from the game’s developer. Even though it’s scheduled for release in early 2023, numerous video games have been late in recent years.

Because this is the studio’s first major endeavor, fans shouldn’t be too surprised if the release date is pushed out later in the year. Despite this, Studio Sai appears to have waited until “Eternights” was ready to be exhibited since the trailer features a solid blend of cinematics and gameplay.

The unveiling video for “Eternights” showcases many different features. The story’s premise is set: a few survivors are left to try to save the world. In one scene, our hero appears to lose his right arm in a struggle, only to have it magically regrow into a glowing replacement as part of his arsenal of powers.

Sia, Yuna, Min, and Yohan are the other four characters in the cast outside the main character. Unlike Yohan, who appears to be actively involved in the conflict, Sia, Yuna, and Min receive surprisingly little screen time.

A combination of 3D cutscenes where you can choose your dialogue and 2D painted anime sequences make up the game’s narrative elements.

The trailer is fast-paced and combines a lot of different scenes, such as action sequences showcasing weapons and powers, scenes from the classroom and the subway, and quieter, more romantic moments.

Eternights Gameplay

Based on what little has been seen so far and what the Steam description says, “Eternights” appears to be a dungeon crawler. The protagonist’s magic arm transforms into a sword and helps him battle a massive foe.

Several button prompts appeared on screen during the battle, maybe displaying the attack combinations or implying the occasional fast-time event.

However, this is not made explicit in the film. It’s unclear how many adversaries you’ll face at once, as most of the encounters displayed involve only a single, enormous enemy.

Building rapport with the supporting cast improves their combat effectiveness and unlocks new abilities for use in battle. Players will face traps, riddles, and dance mini-games as they level up, train, and venture into dungeons.

In the reveal trailer, we also see the player character riding a motorcycle through a tunnel, suggesting that there are methods besides walking through the dungeons.

The Eternights trailer opens with a severed arm spraying blood before becoming a shining blade. While the game’s hack-and-slash action may throw you off, Eternights’ central premise is a romantic encounter simulator. It seems excellent, and I’m all set to fall in love while fending off the end of the world.

In 2023, Sony, Sony, and Microsoft will hopefully release Studio Sai’s first video game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC platforms. Studio Sai co-founder and game narrator Jae Yoo elaborated on the game’s premise and mechanics in a PlayStation Blog article after the State of Play broadcast.

Scavenging for resources, battling through dungeons, and going on dates all form the backbone of the notion. Who exactly do you intend to fight? Transformed humans who relish bloodshed and command a taste for power. Those humans are off-limits for dating, but other survivors are fair game.

You can spend time getting to know a cast of five funny and loveable individuals when you’re not spelunking, as Yoo put it. As you learn more about them and develop a strong relationship with them, you will get access to powerful abilities and spells.
