Dover library marks Pride Month with presentation – Foster’s Daily Democrat

The Dover Public Library at 73 Locust St. in Dover.

Fifty-one years ago on June 28, police raided a gay club called the Stonewall Inn in New York leading to six days of protests and demonstrations. The Stonewall Riots and the fight for equality among the LGBTQ+ community is why the month of June is LGBTQ+ Pride month. This month we invite you to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community in a special virtual presentation with PFLAG-NH’s president Erica Allen. PFLAG was founded in 1973 and is the nation’s largest family and ally organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people, their parents and families, and allies. They currently have over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters across America. To find out more about this program, read on.
