Doris Emmogene Rogers Myers | News, Sports, Jobs – The Inter-Mountain

Doris Emmogene Rogers Myers, 92, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Doris was born in Calhoun County on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1930, a daughter of the late Gruder Rogers and Ella Gay Bailey Rogers.

On Aug. 24, 1953, at Oakland, Maryland, she was married to Allen (Squirrel) Dale Myers, who survives. They had celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Left to cherish Doris’ memory besides her husband are three sons, Matthew W. Myers and wife, Christina, of Montrose, Anthony D. Myers and wife, Teresa, and Mark L. Myers, a daughter, Phyllis L. Owens and husband, Phillip, all of Parsons; seven grandchildren, April, Alisha, Angela, Brian, Jeremy, Katie and Holly; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Rachael, Josie, Ashton, Daxton, Hunter and Brody; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doris was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Forrest and Ford; and three sisters, Jewell, Garnet and Orva.

Doris attended the schools of Calhoun County and had worked for Nella’s Nursing Home. She attended Sycamore Grove Church.

Doris enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, flowers, and country and gospel music. She loved her family and will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev. Ronnie Rogers will officiate, and interment will follow in Pifer Mountain Cemetery.
