Delhi University student jumps off 4th floor after facing harassment … – Times Now

New Delhi: In order to avoid harassment for being gay, a teenage student from Delhi University jumped from the fourth floor of a building in Delhi.

The victim had gone to meet his new friend, whom he had met through the dating app, Blued. According to the friend, when he got to his friend’s flat, some boys began to harass him for belonging to the LGBTQ+ community.

The boy decided to take drastic measures to get away from the circumstance, jumping off the fourth floor of the apartment.

The 19-year-old was taken to a hospital by the locals, who also reported the incident to the police. Two men have been arrested by the Delhi police, and an investigation is currently underway.

Meanwhile, in another incident, an 18-year-old NEET UG candidate hanged himself inside his hostel from a ceiling fan to end his life. The Indira Vihar neighbourhood under the Jawahar Nagar police station received a complaint about the incident on Friday. With this incident, there have now been 15 suicides in Kota this year.

Aniket Kumar (18), a resident of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, has been identified by the police. According to the police, a suicide note was also found in his room, and an investigation into it is currently underway.
