David Beckham ‘hypocrite’ over gay footballer Jake Daniels – The Times

David Beckham has been accused of hypocrisy for supporting a gay footballer while still accepting millions of pounds to be the face of the World Cup in Qatar, where homosexuality is illegal.

The gay magazine Attitude condemned Beckham for agreeing the deal after he gave his support to the Blackpool midfielder Jake Daniels, 17, who recently came out. He is the UK’s first male professional footballer to do so since Justin Fashanu in 1990.

An Instagram post from the Attitude account claimed Beckham was “keeping his money just about as far as possible from where his mouth is”.
