To the editor:
I commend the WRAP organization for offering support services for all victims of domestic violence or sex trafficking. They are needed in this age when the cultural environment is suffering from a massive breakdown of the family.
WRAP’s 6-18-2022 article cited the Stonewall Uprising as a beginning point of the Pride movement; but what really got things going in the public arena was the removal of homosexuality from the DSM-II list of psychiatric disorders (American Psychiatric Association publication). This tended to make homosexuality appear normal.
In chapter 4, of “Homosexuality and American Psychiatry: The Politics of Diagnosis,” Dr. Ronald Bayer says the first attack by homosexual activists against the APA began in 1970 when the APA held its convention in San Francisco. At that time homosexual activists decided to disrupt the conference by interrupting speakers and shouting down and ridiculing psychiatrists who viewed homosexuality as a mental disorder.
In 1971, homosexual activist Frank Kameny worked with the Gay Liberation Front to demonstrate against the APA’s convention. At the 1971 conference, Kameny grabbed the microphone and yelled, “Psychiatry is the enemy incarnate. Psychiatry has waged a relentless war of extermination against us. You may take this as a declaration of war against you.”
Meanwhile, homosexuals forged APA credentials and gained access to exhibit areas, threatening anyone who claimed that homosexuals needed to be cured. After much political pressure, a committee of the APA met behind closed doors in 1973 and voted to remove homosexuality as a mental disorder from the DSM-II.
This action was so successful that by the late 1980s Kirk & Madsen wrote in After the Ball, and Overhauling of Straight America, “We mean conversion of the average American’s emotions, mind, and will, through a planned psychological attack, in the form of propaganda fed to the nation via the media.”
Among other things, the six steps deal with neutralizing Joe Sixpack and demonizing the religious right using the bracket technique. In other words, the movement is not based on intellectual argument; only emotional manipulation of the public.
Now, in the 2020s we have propaganda making its way into our grade and high schools. The Minnesota teacher licensing board is called the Professional Educators Licensing and Standards Board. Each board member was appointed by Gov. Tim Walz, and PELSB is now finishing the new teacher licensing requirements.
The new standards will embed basic Marxist principles and practices such as critical race theory, fluid sexual identity and gender politics into all Minnesota schools. See full details at cplaction.com.
Why do we never see anything from big media about people who have left the LGBTQ lifestyle and are now living a happy life?
