Church in Wales allows blessings for gay couples – The Times
The Church of England is now the only Anglican church in Britain that neither conducts nor blesses same-sex unions after Welsh Anglicans voted to introduce blessings for gay couples.
The historic move from the Church in Wales means that gay couples in Wales can now have their civil marriages and unions blessed by a priest. The Scottish Episcopal Church voted to start performing same-sex marriages in 2017.
Members of the Church in Wales’s governing body yesterday voted overwhelmingly in favour of a change to church law to allow a “service of blessing following a civil partnership or marriage between two people of the same sex”.
