Casual dining concept Lumee opens at Bahrain International Airport … – The Moodie Davitt Report
BAHRAIN. Popular casual dining brand Lumee opened its latest location last month at Bahrain International Airport. The outlet, a first for the Lumee brand in an airport, is managed by SSP Group.
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) said the opening of Lumee On The Go reinforces the airport’s Bahraini character, differentiating it from other airports.
BAC Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah attended the opening ceremony alongside SSP Bahrain General Manager Tomas de Prat Gay and Lumee Restaurants Director, Hamad Rashed Isa.
Al Binfalah said: “We are delighted to finally celebrate the opening of this distinctly Bahraini restaurant, which completes the eclectic mix of dining offerings at BIA. The branch was initially set to open alongside the airport’s other restaurants but remained closed because of the pandemic. For many travellers, the most popular part of visiting a country for the first time is sampling the local cuisine. Now, even transit passengers can enjoy traditional and contemporary Bahraini street food and grills without stepping foot outside the airport.”
De Prat Gay said: “Lumee is devoted to capturing the essence of street food in a contemporary setting while providing exciting flavours from Bahrain and the Middle East. Some of our classics include ‘achar hummus’ and ‘Tikka Lumee’ alongside the renowned traditional breakfast. We are excited to open the first Lumee outlet in an airport environment and look forward to serving our guests at BIA.”
Lumee On The Go is located in the departures zone near Souq Al Qaisariya and can accommodate 82 guests, 24 hours a day. ✈
