Bengaluru: Gang of miscreants rob techie by posing themselves as gays; arrested – Times Now

Bengaluru: In yet another major crackdown, a gang of three miscreants have been arrested by the Karnataka Police on charges of robbing a software engineer by posing themselves as gays in Bengaluru.

Police said that the accused miscreants used a gay dating app to trap the victim techie. Police have recognised the arrested accused as Sameer Pasha, Mohammad Ismail, and Salman Khan, all inhabitants of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru, news agency IANS reported.

The Sadashivanagar police took up the matter for investigation after the man filed a complaint and they initiated a search for the primary accused in the case, who is still at large.

The victim worked for a reputable technology firm and lived in Bengaluru’s eastern outskirts. One of the accused acting as a gay had recently been introduced to him via a dating app. According to authorities, the accused scheduled a meeting because they had formed a relationship after speaking for a long time, IANS reported.

The accused had called the techie to the Palace Grounds, and when he came at 8:30 pm on July 23, the accused had allegedly attacked him. They had allegedly attacked and robbed a laptop valued at Rs 1 lakh.

The next day, the techie filed a police complaint. After obtaining information on the suspects, the police apprehended them in Bengaluru. More probe is being conducted.
