“Basketball is bulls**t, it’s gay” – When Andrew Tate called out one of … – Sportskeeda

Famous social media personality and former kickboxer Andrew Tate once disrespected the basketball world and the LGBTQ community at the same time. Tate even managed to brush off LeBron James’ name during a discussion about the game.

In a YouTube video from a few months ago, Tate was streaming on a social media platform and was being interviewed by a fellow streamer, Adin Ross. When Ross asked Tate about basketball, the controversial figure gave his opinion on the matter.

“Basketball is bullsh*t,” Tate said.

Ross followed up by asking if Tate didn’t like LeBron James.

“Nah,” Tate replied. “It’s gay. Basketball’s gay. … Just put the ball in the net. I mean, where’s the fun in that?”

For those who don’t know Andrew Tate, he’s a former kickboxer-turned-internet celebrity. Tate is known for his misogynistic comments that got him banned from almost all social media platforms. He was unbanned on Twitter when Elon Musk bought the company.

Meanwhile, LeBron James or any basketball player have not responded to Tate’s comments. The LGBTQ community is not a fan of Tate, who has made public homophobic comments since he was a guest on the British reality show “Big Brother” in 2016.

Andrew Tate was arrested in Romania on December 29 due to suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group. Tate’s brother, Tristan, was also detained, as well as two other suspects.

Prosecutors told Reuters that the four suspects were creating an organized crime group that would exploit and force women to make pornography content. They also revealed that six women were rescued from Tate’s villa located in Pipera village on the edge of the capital Bucharest.

“The four suspects appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost,” the prosecutors said. “They would have gained important sums of money.”

According to Variety, Tristan and Andrew Tate have been under investigation by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism since April for their alleged involvement in human trafficking.

Authorities were able to track down the suspects when Andrew posted a response video to climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter. The former kickboxer previously tagged Thunberg to show off his car collection. The 19-year-old activist was not having any of it and called out the controversial social media personality.

Andrew responded by posting a video wherein he was eating Jerry’s Pizza, a popular pizza brand in Romania.
