Banbury man wins the title of Mr Gay Europe – Banbury Guardian
Paul Dennison was entered into the European competition, that took place at the grounds of Alnwick Castle last weekend, after winning 2021’s Mr Gay England.
Paul, who was schooled at the Blessed George Napier in Banbury, had to compete over a full week in various challenges and tasks that included a national clothing catwalk, cooking, dancing and speaking about a project proposal in front of the South Tyneside Council at South Shields Town Hall.
The competition was fierce with Mr Gay Italy only ten points behind Paul at the final score. He has now taken on the role as an ambassador to the gay community after claiming the title and can count himself alongside only one other Englishman to claim the European crown.
Paul will now travel to both the UK and Norwegian parliaments to share his winning project idea of bringing drama schools and activities to schools to educate and deal with the subjects of LGBTQ and anti-bullying issues.
He said: “I am ecstatic and super proud of where I am right now and I’m looking forward to making a nice positive change for the future.
“It was touch and go and genuinely as it was being announced I thought this might not go my way but they announced my name and I was ecstatic. My overly supportive partner and friends screamed for joy when they said my name, it was amazing.”
