ARREST: Smidlein, Matthew – ( 1 count ) DUI (M) and 2 additional charges – Chester County | CRIMEWATCH PA

               On July 1, 2022 at approximately 1:50am, West Chester Police Officers observed a gray sedan traveling at a high rate of speed west bound from the 50 block of E. Gay Street to the 50 block of W. Gay St. The driver, later identified as Matthew Smidlein, W/M, 28 YOA, of West Chester, failed to pulled over after emergency lights and sirens were activated and continued driving the wrong way on N. Church Street. After a short traffic pursuit, Smidlein was arrested and charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding police, resisting arrest, careless driving, and other traffic offenses. A preliminary hearing is pending.
