LAGRANGE, Texas — Alyce A. Hollinger, 89 formerly of Salem, passed away June 24, 2021 in Lagrange, Texas. She was born Aug. 8 1931 in Columbiana, Ohio to Russell Hum and Ethel Sheets. She was proceeded in death by both parents; a husband, Morris E. Hollinger; a brother, Bud Hum; and two sisters, June Hunston and Marge Peppel. She is survived by her three children, Barry E. Hollinger Knoxville, Tenn., Robert M. Hollinger (Dena) Salem, Ohio and Gay Herold La Grange, Texas; grandchildren Sam Hollinger of Texas, Matthew Hollinger (Erin) of Wisconsin, Benjamin Hollinger(Jessica) of Florida, Rachael Holter of Ohio and Kendall Herold of Colorado; and great-grandchildren Jonathan, Jake, Maddie, Cameron, Oliver and Emery.
She was employed by Salem City Schools for many years until her retirement. Alyce enjoyed the simplest pleasures of life and all of nature. (The birds will sorely miss her.) Without a doubt her greatest accomplishment and joy in her life came from her loving family.
The family will hold a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
