Aaron Donald is Rams’ only Pro Bowler, Bobby Wagner snubbed – Yahoo Sports
The NFL already announced on Monday that Aaron Donald was selected to his ninth consecutive Pro Bowl this season, but he’s the only Rams player who made the cut.
The league revealed the complete rosters for both the NFC and AFC on Wednesday night and Donald was the Rams’ lone selection. It’s been a rough year for Los Angeles, but it’s surprising that neither Bobby Wagner nor Jalen Ramsey earned Pro Bowl nods.
Wagner made the Pro Bowl eight times as a member of the Seahawks, being selected every year from 2014-2021. He hasn’t missed a beat in his first season with the Rams, ranking as the best linebacker in football based on PFF’s grades.
In 14 games this season, Wagner has 118 tackles and eight tackles for a loss, already tying a career-high with five sacks. He’s also landed seven hits on the quarterback, which is four more than he had last season.
Yet, he was snubbed from the NFC roster; Fred Warner and Demario Davis were selected over him.
Ramsey has had an up-and-down season, and despite giving up some big plays and touchdowns in coverage, he’s been excellent as a run defender. He has 75 tackles and two sacks, just two tackles shy of a career-high, which he set in 2021.
Matt Gay also had a case for the Pro Bowl, making 21 of his 23 field goal attempts. He has a long of 58 yards and his only two misses came from 50-plus yards.
