If movies themselves are the first part, award functions are the next big thing for most of us. All of our favorite stars rocking their gorgeous and glamorous looks assembled under one hall offering us a visual treat.
Apart from that, if our favorite celebrities are granted awards; it’s a double treat. But still, a sadness lingers, as the awards in most cases offer no room for audience or fan participation. Except for a few and the People’s Choice Award is one of them.
The People’s Choice Awards are an American awards program that honors individuals in the entertainment industry through online public and fan voting.
The show has been running every year since 1975, and up until 2005, Gallup Polls were used to choose the winners before switching to online voting. And in here, people, or more commonly the fans are the kings – High five for Democracy!
2022 People’s Choice Awards: The Best Of The Best
The 2022 People’s Choice Awards, the 48th edition, was held on December 6, 2022, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
The show was earlier owned by Procter & Gamble Productions (P&G); under P&G, the ceremony was broadcast by CBS, and Procter & Gamble’s brands held exclusive national advertising time across the entire telecast. However, as of April 2017, the E! Network has assumed control as the new powerhouse, and the show will now air live on both E! and NBC at the same time.
Celebrities of all stripes celebrated the event in style, walking the red carpet at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica in their most eye-catching outfits.
Over 40 categories of film and television nominees were honored at the awards ceremony. This year, Kenan Thompson took over as host, for a second consecutive year, as the awards ceremony honored the best performers in the entertainment sector as chosen by fans from all over the world.
Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Selena Gomez, Adam Sandler, and Lizzo all won top honors at the grand event, honoring some of the year’s biggest stars.
