Sventoonie’s Halloween BOOnanza
The classic-horror series hosted by Svengoolie (Rich Koz) begins its month-long celebration of freaky, kooky-spooky and fiendishly fun fright flicks, kicking off with Trilogy of Terror, the 1975 three-part TV movie featuring Karen Black and a little voodoo doll that caused many a nightmare (7 p.m., MeTV).
Beyond the Headlines: Gabby Petito
Timed to the shocking one-year-ago disappearance of Gabby Petito, this drama stars Skyler Samuels as the 20-year-old who was later found to have been murdered by her fiancé, Brian Laundry (played by Evan Hall), on a cross-country trip gone very wrong (8 p.m., Lifetime).
SUNDAY, Oct. 2
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire
Previously a 1994 movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as this world’s sexiest vampires, this new spin of the gothic fang-y love story stars Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid and Bailey Bass—and changes the setting to 1900s New Orleans (10 p.m., AMC).
East New York
From the producers of NYPD Blue, this new crime procedural centers on a police precinct in a working-class Brooklyn neighborhood buzzing with social upheaval. Starring Amanda Warren and Jimmy Smits (9 p.m., CBS).

A Friend of the Family
New true-crime series is based on the harrowing true story of a family whose daughter was kidnapped multiple times over the years by an obsessed family “friend.” Starring Anna Paquin, Jake Lacy, Colin Hanks, McKenna Grace and Austin Stowell (Peacock).
NEW ON DVD
Superman’s dog must convince a ragtag group of rescue pets that his (super)human—and the rest of the famed Justice League—is in peril in the lively animated romp DC League of Super-Pets (Warner Bros.
